Opening of the exhibitions LESTECHPRODUKZIA-2001 and RUSPAPER-2001.
On December 04 at 11.00 a.m. started the 5th jubilee international exhibition «Lestechprodukzia-2001» and a new international exhibition «RusPaper-2001».
Sergey Mitin – Deputy Minister of Industry, Science and Technology of the Russian Federation, Miron Tatsyun – President of the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters, Alexander Krutov – Deputy Chairman of the Moscow State Duma, Nikolay Panichev – President of the “Stankoinstrument” Association of Machines’ and Tools’ Manufacturers, Dieter Siempelkamp – President of the Association of Woodworking Equipment Manufacturers of Germany (VDMA), Vladimir Chuyko, President of “Bumprom” Russian Association and other officials spoke at the opening ceremony. Andrey Lapshin, General Director of Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre introduced the guests and read the welcoming message send by Gennadiy Seleznev, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to participants and visitors of “Lestechprodukzia-2001” and ‘RusPaper-2001”.
The speakers emphasized the importance of “Lestechprodukzia” - the exhibition that was approved by the Union des Foires Internationales (UFI) as one of key exhibitions in the world. They also endorsed a new exhibition - “RusPaper”.
Sergey Mitin commented: “We highly appreciate the opening of the two international exhibitions - “Lestechprodukzia-2001” and ‘RusPaper-2001” - at Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre. We are happy that the exhibitions showcase up-to-date equipment, technology, materials, scientific and technical achievements of research institutes from Russia and abroad. Conferences, seminars and round tables that are scheduled in the exhibitions’ scope will also favour the implementation of latest achievements in the timber complex of Russia. I trust that the exhibitions will make a contribution in the development of the Russian economy”.
Mr. Mitin emphasized the advantages of “Lestechprodukzia-2001”: “It is the biggest Russian exhibition and we are glad that it was awarded an UFI Symbol”.
Nikolay Panichev said: «The timber complex is a good ground for activity of tools’ manufacturers. We owe much to timber manufacturers. Today the machines’ and tools’ production is being modernized and one of its branches will be aimed at timber processing. That is why there are many machines’ and tools’ producers willing to show their equipment and conclude co-operation contracts at “Lestechprodukzia-2001”.
Dieter Siempelkamp – President of Association of Woodworking Equipment Manufacturers of Germany (VDMA) attended “Lestechprodukzia” for the first time. He said that German machines’ and tools’ manufacturers are ready to support the Russian timber complex by supplying their products. «German machines’ and tools’ manufacturers have old links with Russian timber producers. We think that further development of our co-operation is very important. For us the exhibition is a good site for meetings and our co-operation development. We search partners for financing joint projects and we need to find solutions for increasing timber production and export in Russia».
On the same day at 02.00 p.m. in Conference hall of Pavilion 4A of Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre there took place a press conference, dedicated to the international exhibition “Lestechprodukzia-2001”. An interest of specialized press representatives to the development of the timber complex and the discussion of topical questions have created the business atmosphere at the press conference.
Valentina Vishnevskaya, Director of “Lestechprodukzia-2001” opened the press conference. She mentioned particular features of the jubilee exhibition and told about latest news of Sokolniki Culture & Exhibition Centre. Boris Bolshakov, Chief of Department for Restructuring and Development of Timber Complex of the Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology of the Russian Federation, Timur Irtuganov, General Manager of “Tsentrlesexpo” JSC, Olga Gurleva, General Manager of the Association of Furniture Manufacturing and Woodworking Enterprises of Russia, Vladimir Chuiko, President of “Bumprom” RAO and Mr. Siempelkamp made detailed reports.
“RusPaper-2001” was also discussed at the press conference. Vladimir Chuyko introduced the new project. “There was no paper exhibition in Moscow. Though Moscow is a center of paper consumption and it needs this exhibition. 40 reports made at the scientific and practical conference that took place in the exhibition’s scope testify of the great interest towards the exhibition. “
Valentina Vishnevskaya, Director of “Lestechprodukzia-2001” concluded the press conference. She thanked everybody for the attention to “Lestechprodukzia-2001” and wished success to journalists.
